Shouju no Shiro - 松寿の白
THIN
TEA (USUCHA)
Aoi
Seicha has been making maccha for over eighty years and Shouju
no Shiro has been a long-standing favorite of many matcha drinkers
in Japan. Shouju no Shiro is one of Aoi's finest usucha (thin
tea) offerings. It combines the umami and a touch of sweetness and disregards
most bitterness, thus making it attractive to most drinkers. Use the chasen (bamboo
whisk) for whisking the perfect bowl

Aoi no Homare- "葵の誉"
THIN
/ THICK TEA
Aoi no Homare takes the tea to another level. The umami presence of the Shouju no Shiro is accented by further sweetness and just hints of bitter. With an expanded flavor profile it holds up very well as both a character-full thick tea and a savory thin tea. All matcha may be prepared as thin tea using 1-2 tsp. of tea per cup of water. The highest grades, however, may also be prepared as koicha ("thick tea") as shown above. Whisking 6-8 tsp. of matcha in a cup of water produces the ultimate bowl of green tea: the texture is thick and smooth, the color is intense and the flavor is truly unforgettable.
